Tumultuous

In true student fashion, the end of this academic year is as tumultuous as any other. My last few weeks of university have gone from placid and peaceful to hectic and relentless, but I really should not have expected any different. As always, there is the hand-in of essays, a major triumph at the time and that good old feeling of weight off the shoulders! And then of course, come the exams. Weight is firmly back on the shoulders once more. Only this time, it comes with the added extra of a little thing called a dissertation proposal. They do say everything happens in threes. I have just finished one exam merely minutes ago, and the relief is amazing. One more exam to go and then I can rejoice in the knowledge that I have made it three quarters of the way though university!

The summer ahead is calling, but I’m also excited to begin reading for my dissertation, a topic that was proposed by my personal tutor, of which I jumped at the chance to take on as my very own. I’m already dreaming of sunny days spent laying at the beach, post-surf, with a nice collection of readings and my trusty highlighter in hand. Of course, I’m already laughing at my future-self because I know full well that it won’t be long before I’m bored of reading, and it will probably be raining like most British summer days, and that surf will have probably resulted in a nice bump to the head. Regardless, roll on those (hopefully sunny) summer days!
